At age 91: selling luxury apartment opposite the Western Wall at a discount of tens of millions
One of the most unusual properties in Jerusalem is now offered for sale on the first line to the Temple Mount, after its owner decided to compromise on the price to find a practical buyer as soon as possible and arrange a dream inheritance for his children.

An unusual property on the first line to the Western Wall in Jerusalem is currently offered for sale at a price of 50 million shekels — a price that matured after a dramatic cut of about half the amount requested in the past. The apartment, designed by architect Moshe Safdie and built in 1973, spans about 240 square meters and includes a balcony and an open view of the Temple Mount and the gathering place of the worshipers from all its windows.
The owner of the property, now 91 years old, is a former Jewish-American soldier who served in the area in the 70s and purchased the apartment in 1978 for hundreds of thousands of dollars. After trying for years to sell it for amounts reaching up to about 100 million shekels (and it was even previously presented at an asking price of about 26 million dollars), the owner decided to accelerate the sale for the benefit of distributing the estate to his descendants.
The property was uploaded exclusively to the 'Manivim' board, with the current price tag reflecting a value of over 200 thousand shekels per square meter. The marketing is led by real estate agent Yaakov Strasser, who specializes in unique properties for a Jewish audience from abroad, noting that the apartment owner is now looking for a practical buyer and not inflated valuations.
The real estate market in the Jewish Quarter is considered tiny and particularly unique, when previous transactions in the area — such as an apartment on Misgav Ladach Street sold in 2022 for about 15 million shekels — crossed the threshold of 100 thousand shekels per square meter, which places the current transaction at one of the highest levels seen in Jerusalem.
