A parole board has ordered the early release of Khaled bin Muhammad Mahamid after serving 11 months of an 18-month sentence for a fatal 2019 crash at the Aluf Sade tunnel that killed two workers.

About 23 years ago, Mundar Issa murdered his teenage cousin Ruaa in Kafr Qasim in what was determined to be an 'honor killing'. After 22 years in prison, the parole board granted his request for early release under restrictive conditions, despite the opposition of the victim's family.
