Netanyahu Visits Kiryat Shmona and Meets Mayor Stern Amid Regional Tour
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Kiryat Shmona, receiving a warm welcome from Mayor Avichai Stern despite past political rivalries, and discussed regional security and Iran.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Kiryat Shmona on Tuesday, where he was warmly received by Mayor Avichai Stern, despite having publicly endorsed Stern's rival during the previous municipal elections.
Tour of Kiryat Shmona and Northern Security
During his visit, Netanyahu toured the area and addressed regional developments.
A dream come true. Kiryat Shmona is flourishing and growing together with the entire Galilee.
Stern expressed public support for the prime minister, stating: "This is a holiday, thank you for all you have done. This is how change is made. I believe in you and hope that in a week all of Israel will vote correctly."
Strategic Vision on Iran and Hezbollah
Netanyahu emphasized the broader strategic goals, noting discussions with US President Donald Trump regarding the Iranian regime.
"We are committed to completing the elimination of the Iranian regime; I discussed this with President Trump. Alongside this will come the elimination of Hezbollah and also peace with Lebanon," Netanyahu declared. He detailed military achievements in the north, including pushing back the Radwan Force and establishing a deep security buffer zone.
Past Political Tensions and Current Alignment
The warm reception marks a sharp turnaround from previous political friction. During the local elections, Netanyahu strongly backed Eli Zafrani, a Likud-affiliated candidate close to the Netanyahu family. Despite high-profile backing from Likud ministers, Stern won the runoff election. Today's visit showcased a complete political realignment as both leaders focused on northern security and national leadership.
