Helicopters

The "Magic Touch" Apache helicopter squadron, which supported maneuvering forces and intercepted UAVs during the war, has moved from Ramon base to Ramat David. Major G. explained that following the lessons of October 7, the IDF decided to disperse attack helicopter forces across both ends of the country to ensure better border protection.

The October 7 massacre taught the Air Force that it was greatly mistaken — and the combat helicopter squadrons will be split, with some Apache helicopters moving from Ramon Airbase to Ramat David Airbase. Meanwhile, the purchase of new helicopters continues to be delayed.
