A senior Iranian military official claims the pilots are being held in unsuitable conditions on the water. Tehran has called on the Red Cross to send an air ambulance to Qatar for their evacuation.

According to the army's statement, the pilots survived the crash of SU-24 aircraft during strike missions in March. At the same time, Tehran is criticizing Doha for not allowing them to make contact.
