Minister Miki Zohar suggested a rotation government between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eisenkot if Eisenkot's party wins the upcoming elections and secures a larger parliamentary bloc, with Netanyahu serving first.

Speaking on a Knesset Channel podcast hosted by Sefi Ovadia and Lior Kenan, Zohar outlined the scenario despite earlier skepticism expressed by Likud sources regarding a broad unity government.

Zohar Proposal and Likud Calculations

When asked about potential boycotts against Netanyahu if Eisenkot commands more mandates, Zohar stated: "I would propose a rotation, if Gadi is larger both in mandates and in the bloc I would propose a rotation, but Netanyahu first. I will tell you why, because I truly think that Netanyahu is the only one who can complete the mission in the Middle East."

"I would propose a rotation, if Gadi is larger both in mandates and in the bloc I would propose a rotation, but Netanyahu first," said Miki Zohar.

Party insiders previously discussed scenarios where neither political bloc reaches 61 seats, leading to a potential deadlock. Closed-door discussions considered offering Netanyahu a path toward the presidency to ensure a smooth transition of power.

Skepticism Over Unity Government

Meanwhile, Likud officials expressed skepticism regarding reports that President Isaac Herzog might promote a broad unity government after the elections, stating no practical proposals have been received.

"There is nothing for him to sell and nothing for him to offer, apart from asking nicely," a Likud source noted, emphasizing the current political polarization.
