New York Times War Coverage SKEWED Against Israel, Study Reveals
A peer-reviewed study by Yale Prof. Adiel Pinker shows the New York Times exhibited a strong anti-Israel bias in its war coverage, systematically omitting Israeli casualties.
A comprehensive peer-reviewed academic study has revealed that the New York Times' coverage of the Iron Swords War exhibited a significant anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian bias, systematically minimizing Israeli casualties while disproportionately amplifying Palestinian suffering.
Quantitative Analysis of 1,559 Articles
Conducted by Prof. Adiel Pinker of Yale University and published in the academic journal Studies in Conflict & Terrorism, the research analyzed 1,559 articles published between October 7, 2023, and June 7, 2024. The primary objective was to evaluate potential biases in the media narrative presented to millions of readers worldwide.
According to the findings, 91% of all analyzed articles failed to mention any Israeli casualties fallen in combat following the initial surprise attack. Furthermore, 1,423 articles completely omitted references to both post-October 7 Israeli fatalities and Hamas terrorists eliminated during the fighting.
Neglecting Hostages and Human Stories
The study also revealed that 50% of the articles made no mention of the Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip, and 41% ignored Israeli casualties from the October 7 terrorist attack itself.

Human-interest stories and personal accounts highlighting Palestinian and Lebanese suffering appeared on average two out of every three days, whereas parallel accounts of Israeli suffering unrelated directly to October 7 appeared in only a handful of articles throughout the entire period.
Statistical Discrepancies and Media Response
Statistically, the name of the State of Israel was mentioned 27,205 times during the research period, compared to only 8,499 mentions of Hamas—a ratio of over three to one. Prof. Pinker noted that this massive gap places almost exclusive responsibility for the situation on Israel while dramatically diminishing the role of the terrorist organization.
In response to the preliminary findings, the New York Times stated: "We have covered this war with greater precision and rigor than almost any other American news organization, reporting on the conflict from all angles."
