Yariv Oppenheimer against Yoseph Haddad: "Why is the trial being covered up?"
The left-wing activist sharply criticizes Yoseph Haddad's advocacy in the United States and raises serious allegations regarding a past shooting incident in which he was allegedly involved on the road.
Yariv Oppenheimer, a left-wing activist and former CEO of Peace Now, addressed on the X network an incident in which Yoseph Haddad was involved during his visit to the United States. Following the publication of the video of the confrontation and the many reactions the event sparked, Oppenheimer chose to shift the discussion to another incident from Haddad's past and raised questions regarding the conduct of the authorities in his case.
"More headlines that Yoseph Haddad is generating for himself regarding his participation in a podcast in the US," wrote Oppenheimer, referring to the exposure Haddad received following the incident and the video he distributed on social media.
Oppenheimer then moved on to a question that he says requires an answer:
"And I ask, what other Israeli would receive a visa to the US after shooting during an argument on the road with his personal weapon and endangering lives?"
Oppenheimer was referring to a claim regarding another incident in which Haddad was involved, and raised questions about the possibility of continuing the proceedings in his case.
"What about his trial? Why are they covering it up?" — concluded Oppenheimer in his post, directing criticism at what he claims is public disregard for the affair.
The remarks come against the backdrop of the recent incident in the US, where Haddad arrived at a filmed confrontation against anti-Israel activists. During the meeting, a physical confrontation developed after one of the participants attacked him, and the event later continued in a parking lot. Haddad published a video of the incident and claimed that he was attacked by a "neo-Nazi", writing that the attacker "did not know he had stumbled upon a Golani soldier".
In the video, the physical confrontation between the two is seen, and at the same time, the event sparked many reactions online. The Mossad spokesperson also addressed the incident and published a message of support for Haddad. Now, Oppenheimer's reference adds political criticism to the public confrontation surrounding the event, while raising questions about previous affairs in which Haddad was involved.
