Yango Deli Names Naama Alshech New CEO to Expand Rapid Delivery Market
Yango Deli appoints former Shufersal executive Naama Alshech as new CEO, aiming to expand its rapid grocery delivery footprint amid major market shifts in Israel.

Yango Deli has appointed a new CEO, Naama Alshech, who previously served as Deputy CEO of Shufersal Amiga, the group's B2B retail arm. Alshech will step into the role to expand the company's footprint in the rapid supermarket delivery market. The appointment comes just over a year after Yango Deli's Israeli operations changed hands, during a period of significant transformation for Israel's online grocery and supermarket delivery sector.
Leadership and Strategic Vision
Alshech, 44, brings extensive experience in retail, commerce, and sales. She holds a bachelor's degree in social sciences from the Open University and a master's degree in business administration from the Peres Academic Center.
In June 2025, Yango Deli's Israeli operations were acquired by the MNW Group, owned by businessman Elchin Merzayev, in a deal valued at approximately 40 million dollars. The transaction transferred all local operations and brand usage rights to the group. Merzayev, whose previous ventures included technology for logistics centers, took over an operation that spanned more than 30 cities across Israel.
Market Shifts and Competition
Alshech's appointment arrives at a crucial juncture for Israel's grocery delivery market. Wolt is currently required to divest its Market delivery operations following a decision by the Competition Authority, which ruled against its dual structure of operating a delivery platform for food chains while simultaneously competing with them through its own supermarket chain.
"We see that customers choose Yango Deli proactively, rather than placing a grocery order 'on the fly' as part of using another service," Alshech stated.
Alshech emphasized that Yango Deli aims to differentiate itself from both traditional food chains and broader delivery platforms by focusing strictly on rapid grocery delivery as an independent service. The company plans to leverage its technological infrastructure to address the high operational costs that plague the sector, aiming to restore its position as a major industry player through improved inventory management and workforce efficiency.
