Worker Rescued from 55-Meter Crane Cabin in Kiryat Bialik
A construction worker in his 40s was successfully rescued from a crane cabin 55 meters high in Kiryat Bialik after losing consciousness, following a complex joint operation by firefighters and MDA paramedics.
A complex rescue operation took place on Tuesday at a construction site in Kiryat Bialik after a worker in his 40s lost consciousness inside a crane cabin approximately 55 meters in high.
Due to the extreme height and the impossibility of a standard evacuation, Magen David Adom paramedic Shai Tessler harnessed himself, took medical equipment, and climbed the crane's ladders to reach the worker while firefighters prepared for a rope rescue.
Upon reaching the worker dozens of meters above the ground, Tessler began stabilizing his condition, administering life-saving medical care including anesthesia during the complex extraction. Simultaneously, firefighters lowered the worker to the ground using ropes.
Following the successful rescue, he was transferred to MDA teams and evacuated in an intensive care ambulance to Rambam Health Care Campus in stable condition. Initial assessments suggest he lost consciousness due to a pre-existing medical condition.
