Max Verstappen secured pole position at the Singapore Grand Prix after also winning the chaotic sprint race earlier in the day. The Red Bull driver edged out Charles Leclerc by 0.054 seconds, marking the 50th pole of his career. Lewis Hamilton will start third and Kimi Antonelli fourth.

The sprint race featured a record nine retirements. World champion Lando Norris apologized to McLaren after colliding with teammate Oscar Piastri while chasing Leclerc, ultimately finishing eighth to claim a single point. Piastri was forced to retire.

Verstappen's sprint victory lifted him to fifth in the overall standings. Antonelli finished second in the sprint behind Hamilton and Leclerc, extending his championship lead to 89 points over Mercedes teammate George Russell.
