Indirect talks between US and Iranian representatives are expected to take place as diplomatic efforts intensify over regional tensions. According to reports citing a source familiar with the details, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will remain with Qatari delegations to advance discussions focusing on a revised proposal for a week-long ceasefire.
Nuclear Program and Diplomatic Stance
Earlier reports indicated that mediators are pressing Iran to show flexibility regarding its nuclear program to satisfy US President Donald Trump and resume negotiations. However, sources involved in the talks noted that the chances of convincing Tehran to compromise on the nuclear issue remain slim, as Iranian leadership insists on retaining its uranium enrichment capabilities.
"We do not want to miss the opportunity for peace, but we are ready for any challenge," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated.
