"A victory of justice": Forced to sell her home - and won 10 million shekels
After years of financial difficulties in which she was forced to sell her family home, a widow in her 50s won the prize in Double Lotto. One of the most moving winners who came to collect the prize is a widow in her 50s from the central region and a mother of two. She won the first prize of 10 million shekels in the Double Lotto from the draw on Tuesday, 18/08/2026.
The winner said that after years of financial difficulties, during which she was forced to sell assets including her home, she now hopes to buy back the family home.
"I am a believing woman. I asked to be able to buy back the house I sold and to have some comfort after the difficult years we went through. For me, this is a victory of true justice," she said with excitement.
An apartment for the soldier son and a "significant springboard for life"
Alongside her also arrived the winner of the largest prize in the current round: a resident of the South in his 60s, married, a father and grandfather who works in the retail sector, who scooped the first prize in the Lotto of 40 million NIS. According to him, he usually sends in fixed numbers, but this time he chose at the last moment a Lottomat ticket. After watching the broadcast of the draw and discovering the win, he called his wife and asked her to come home. Despite the sleepless night, the next morning he went to work as usual.
"My wife and I are modest people and we lack nothing. For me, first of all, the children should be settled," shared the winner. At the top of his priority list is his soldier son:
"The first thing I want to do is buy him an apartment and know that he is settled. After everything he does and gives, this is the thing that is most important to me. Afterwards, we will take care of the rest of the children and the family. I am here to make their dreams come true."
The trio of happy winners is completed by the winner of the first prize of 16 million NIS in the Double Lotto track, from the draw held on Saturday night, 15/08/2026. The winner, a resident of the central region who works in the finance sector, said that he has been filling in the same fixed numbers for years, which have special family significance.
After checking the ticket on the Mifal HaPayis website and discovering the win, he called his wife and told her that they had won. According to him, the win is primarily an opportunity to give the children and grandchildren a "significant springboard for life."
