Smuggling cell from the north accused of transferring 50 kg of hashish to Jordan

The Northern District Attorney's Office filed an indictment against three residents of Kfar Misr, aged 26, 41, and 30, on suspicion of operating as a smuggling cell and transferring approximately 50 kg of hashish across the border into Jordan. The indictment was filed following a joint investigation by the Northern District Central Unit and the Shin Bet, and charges them with violating state sovereignty, exporting a dangerous drug, and drug possession.

According to the investigation materials, the three contacted drug suppliers and received approximately 50 kg of hashish, worth millions of shekels, intended for transfer to Jordan. On July 15, 2026, they drove a pickup truck to a drop-off point, collected 10 packages containing the drug, and continued to the eastern border fence.

According to the suspicion, the members of the cell threw the packages over the fence, and they were collected by parties on the Jordanian side. In exchange for the drug export, the defendants were supposed to receive approximately 100,000 shekels each.

The indictment was filed at the Nazareth-Nof HaGalil District Court by attorney Ohad Cohen from the Northern District Attorney's Office. The police stated that the activity of the border unit in the Northern District Central Unit is part of the effort to thwart weapons and drug smuggling.
