Following intelligence regarding the illegal possession of wildlife, law enforcement forces conducted a search last night (between Saturday and Sunday) in the village of A-Ram, during which they located an Israeli gazelle fawn. A suspect was detained and transferred for further investigation.

The fawn was found during a search by a Border Police (Magav) Judea and Samaria team. The animal was placed in the custody of Israel Nature and Parks Authority inspectors and subsequently transferred for treatment at the wildlife hospital in the Ramat Gan Safari.

The 48-year-old suspect, a resident of Kafr Aqab, was detained for questioning. A case has been opened against him on suspicion of illegal trade, possession, and hunting of a protected natural species. Law enforcement officials are calling on the public to contact the Israel Nature and Parks Authority if they become aware of any similar incidents of illegal hunting or animal possession.
