A storm is unfolding in Ashdod following the publication of a sharp and unusually severe "public warning" letter by a special rabbinical court. The letter is signed by senior rabbis, including Shmuel Eliyahu, Zion Boaron, and Aharon Yarchi, who point an accusing finger at Rabbi Yuval Avrahami, who until recently served as the head of a local kollel.

According to the document, the court received serious testimonies that Avrahami engaged in "improper courtship" with a married woman who turned to him for guidance, exploiting his status. Although he previously admitted the acts and promised to leave his position, it is claimed that he recently opened a new kollel. In addition, the document reveals a disturbing testimony from a young man regarding "severe harm in various mikvehs in Ashdod, grave acts regarding matters of modesty that are better left unspoken."

The rabbis note that Avrahami was summoned to court to respond to the allegations, but after an initial agreement, he refused to appear and retracted his consent to undergo an examination by professionals.

Following concerns for public safety, the rabbis stated:

"He is neither a righteous man, nor a pious man, nor a God-fearing man. A God-fearing person will not study Torah from him and will not consult with him on anything."

In its final conclusion, the rabbinical court calls on anyone who has been harmed by Avrahami not to remain silent and to immediately file a complaint with the Israel Police, promising assistance from the court.
