Young man brutally attacked at a car wash: "A trivial argument almost ended in murder"
A 25-year-old man who was in the hospital told police that he was attacked in a village in the valleys by three young men. According to him, they asked him if he was the brother of a certain person, and when he answered in the affirmative, they "pounced" on him. After an investigation, the police realized that the victim's brother had a dispute with the attackers following an argument over the right of way on the road. Indictments have been filed in the case.
A dispute over the right of way on a road in a village in the valleys ended in a violent and brutal attack on a 25-year-old man. This emerges from the investigation led by Staff Sergeant Muhasan Dagash, head of the youth team at the Valleys District Police. The indictments in the case were filed by the Northern District Attorney's Office. The incident occurred on July 15.
Dagash stated that investigators arrived at Poriya Hospital that day to take testimony from the victim:
"According to him, while he was washing his vehicle at a car wash in the village, three young guys from the village arrived and asked him if he was the brother of a certain person. When he answered them in the affirmative, they pounced on him together, armed with clubs and a knife, and beat him in a most brutal manner. He tried to defend himself, but they abandoned him seriously wounded while he was bleeding heavily, to the point of real danger to his life."
According to the police, the victim was hospitalized for five days and underwent several surgeries to save his hand, suffering from tears in all the tendons and a 10 cm deep cut in the forearm.
While the victim was recovering, investigators identified the attackers. They were interrogated and arrested; while they initially denied the attack, claiming there was only an argument and pushing, one of the suspects later confessed to the stabbing, and the others to the assault.
"After the victim was released from hospitalization, he returned and testified at the station, and then we understood the background to the attack: it turned out that the day before, there was an argument between his brother and the suspects regarding the right of way on the road in the village. They could not reach his brother, so they marked him as a target to take revenge," explained Dagash. "It is shocking that a trivial argument almost ended in the murder of an innocent citizen."
Attorney Wissam Lidawi, representing two of the defendants, stated in response: "These are normative young men, without any criminal record, who were caught in an event without it being planned in advance. They did not attack or harm at all, and we will demand their release without conditions."
