A 69-year-old resident of Akko is accused of terrorizing his wife of approximately 45 years, demanding money under threat to purchase drugs, and even threatening to throw her out of the window of their home.

The police investigation was launched in August following reports of suspected violence and threats. According to the investigation's findings, the suspect routinely demanded money for drugs, utilizing extortion, verbal abuse, and intimidation.

In one instance, police report that the suspect woke his wife in the early morning hours, cursed at her, and demanded money while threatening her life. Later that day, he arrived at their home accompanied by another individual and demanded that she throw cash down to him.

After the woman replied that she had no money, the suspect threatened to break down the door, stating: "If I go up to the house, I will throw her out the window."

Officers from the Akko station arrested the suspect, and his detention was extended multiple times. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the police prosecution branch in Akko filed an indictment against him, along with a request to order his detention until the end of proceedings.
