A pair of tourists was fined in Spain after being filmed having sex in a rented Mercedes while driving on the A-7 highway near the city of Marbella in the Malaga province. According to the Spanish newspaper ABC, the couple was located after a video of the incident was distributed on social media and passed on to the police.

The couple, who were on vacation on the Costa del Sol, were fined for reckless driving and not wearing seatbelts. Since they are tourists who are not residents of Spain, they were required to pay the fines on the spot in accordance with the procedures applicable to foreign drivers.

According to El Correo, the traffic department of the Spanish Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) managed to locate the rental car, identify the driver and the passenger beside him, and verify their details. The authorities did not release their identities beyond the fact that they were tourists traveling in a rental car.

Authorities emphasized that the behavior documented in the video posed a real danger to road safety. Driving in such a state impairs the ability to control the vehicle and significantly increases the risk of an accident. The Civil Guard also noted that the case illustrates the importance of public cooperation in enforcing traffic violations. The information and documentation provided by a citizen allowed investigators to locate the vehicle and complete the investigation.
