UEFA has reopened its disciplinary proceedings against Barcelona in the Negreira case following documents submitted by Real Madrid.

According to a report in AS, UEFA received approximately 50,000 pages and thousands of documents from Real Madrid related to the investigation. The organization's ethics and disciplinary inspectors will now review the materials as part of the ongoing case assessment. The scandal involves payments made by Barcelona between 2001 and 2018, during which the Catalan club transferred 8.4 million euros to Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, who served as the vice president of the Spanish Referees' Committee.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin previously commented on the scandal, stating in 2023 that it was one of the most serious cases he had ever witnessed in football. Real Madrid has previously demanded that Barcelona be stripped of titles won during the period of the payments.
