The Winner League management and player representatives have reached an agreement on principles for a multi-year deal focusing on strengthening the status of Israeli basketball players, increasing resources for their development, and efficiently utilizing promotion funds.

The agreement was signed directly between the league management and the players' representatives, emphasizing direct, responsible dialogue. The accord will be valid for the upcoming season, and following the publication of the ministerial outline, it will enter into force for an additional four years.

Dedicated Welfare Fund

A core component of the agreement is the establishment of a dedicated fund for the welfare and advancement of Israeli players. Funded in part by fees collected for registering ninth and foreign players, the fund aims to ensure that resources directly benefit local athletes.

Winner League Chairman Ari Steinberg stated: "This agreement is designed to strengthen the Winner League and Israeli basketball, seeing more local players develop while maintaining the professional level of the league."

"Instead of confrontations and struggles, we chose direct dialogue and practical solutions for the benefit of all parties," said Adv. Sagi Chen, representative of the players.

Balancing Local and Foreign Talent

The agreement introduces mechanisms to increase opportunities for Israeli players while preserving the competitive edge and high professional standards driven by foreign athletes.
