An official in the United Arab Emirates addressed claims that Abu Dhabi warned Israel about a Hamas attack in the weeks leading up to October 7, according to The National.
In response to an inquiry from the newspaper, the Emirati official pointed to how security contacts are handled between the UAE and other countries.
"The UAE discusses security matters with other countries through the relevant authorities and does not discuss such details at the level of national leaders," the official stated.
The response comes amid claims regarding information held by the UAE before the Hamas attack and whether a warning was passed to Israel in the weeks preceding it. The issue is receiving renewed attention ahead of the elections in Israel, as security issues take a central place in the campaign.
