Naomi Shemer: Between Grass and Stone
On Kan 11 at 21:30, a new two-part documentary created and directed by Shay Lahav and Ron Omer outlines the life of Naomi Shemer beyond the public image of the "national poet," delving into the private and complex sides of the artist who composed some of the most iconic songs in Israeli culture. Through her children, close friends, personal letters, and diaries, the film revisits her complicated relationship with her mother, her life as a single mother, her insecurities regarding her appearance, her stormy temperament, the public price she paid for her political views, and the controversy surrounding "Jerusalem of Gold" and its resemblance to a Basque melody, which she acknowledged in her later years. The film was screened at the Haifa 2026 festival, and the second part will air tomorrow.

On Yes VOD, a new six-part romantic crime drama and the first original production by the British channel U&Dave, starring Nick Blood ("The Undeclared War") and Saffron Hocking ("Top Boy"). After three masked men intercept a Range Rover in West London and make off with ten million pounds in cash, detectives Leo and Bella are assigned to investigate a robbery where the details do not add up: a non-lethal bullet, contradictory evidence, and money that no one is in a rush to claim. The pressure mounts when the rightful owner of the cash lands in London to retrieve what is his, dragging the crew into far bigger crimes than they had planned. Written by Howard Overman, creator of "Misfits," the cast also features William Abdie ("Emily in Paris"), Brendan Coyle ("Downton Abbey"), and Peter Serafinowicz. All six episodes drop together.

On Netflix, a new British reality competition series from Netflix and a spin-off of "Inside" by The Sidemen, the British YouTube group that turned its challenge videos into a television format. While "Inside" confined content creators to a house competing for a grand prize of up to one million pounds with every comfort deducted from the pot, The Sidemen are now taking the game out of four walls and throwing a new group of creators and reality stars into the forest. Here too, every requested luxury is subtracted directly from the prize fund, turning every choice into a dilemma: suffer now to save the money, or indulge and risk ending up with very little to split. Along the way, they face grueling physical tasks, temptations that threaten to drain the pot, and the antics of The Sidemen themselves, all while intrigue and alliances form in the struggle for a share of the prize. New episodes drop daily through next Sunday.

On Netflix, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I
The acclaimed and highly successful Japanese anime film arrives on Netflix, serving as the first installment in the trilogy that concludes "Demon Slayer" and adapts the final story arc from Koyoharu Gotouge's manga, following directly after the fourth season of the anime series. In Taisho-era Japan at the beginning of the 20th century, Tanjiro Kamado joins the Demon Slayer Corps after his family is slaughtered and his younger sister is turned into a demon, fighting ever since to restore her humanity and destroy the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji. As the corps trains for the ultimate showdown, Muzan infiltrates the Ubuyashiki family estate to eliminate the corps leader, who traps him at the cost of his life. Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the estate, but Muzan pulls them into the Infinity Castle, a massive labyrinth of shifting rooms and corridors serving as the stronghold of the demons. There, Upper Rank demons await them, and the battles become deeply personal. The film grossed approximately 793 million dollars worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Japanese and anime film of all time. It screened in Israeli cinemas in September 2025, and the anime series is also available on Netflix.
