A Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Tunis encountered severe weather conditions on Thursday. During landing attempts at Tunis-Carthage International Airport, the aircraft experienced severe turbulence and a sudden drop in altitude, causing panic and screaming among passengers.
The pilots attempted to land three consecutive times before abandoning the approach due to hazardous conditions. The flight was diverted to Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, where it landed safely with no injuries reported. Marina Maiskaia, a passenger on board, recorded the frightening moments in a dramatic video shared on social media.
In the footage, she shared the moments of terror: "The flight itself was completely smooth, but everything became terrifyingly frightening as soon as we started to descend. Never in my life have I feared for my life like this." According to her, after three failed attempts and violent shaking, the aircraft began to plummet during the third attempt.
