The pushback follows an essay by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, who warned that a swarm of autonomous AI agents could seize control of the internet within a year unless development pace is throttled. Executives such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Elon Musk have voiced support for similar caution, though US Vice President JD Vance similarly expressed skepticism regarding tech companies calling for self-imposed regulations.
