Trump Denounces Nobel Snub Following Sanctions on The Hague

US President Donald Trump voiced fresh frustration on Saturday over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, highlighting his administration's foreign policy achievements on Truth Social. "I settled eight wars and am close to finishing two more, and I brought back all the Israeli hostages—including the final 28, living and deceased, alongside the release of hundreds of hostages from all over the world," Trump wrote. He further cited his actions in Venezuela and efforts to curb Iran.

Netanyahu Welcomes Sanctions Against International Court

The Nobel Committee announced Friday that the peace prize will be awarded to South African jurist Navi Pillay for her efforts to promote peace and international law. Hours later, the United States announced sweeping sanctions against the International Court of Justice. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Donald Trump and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for the move.

"The court is not a truly judicial body. It is a political entity that poses an existential threat to law-abiding democracies around the world and to the very idea of national sovereignty," Netanyahu stated.

Diplomatic Backlash Over Navi Pillay's Nobel Prize

Israeli officials strongly condemned the Nobel Committee's decision to honor Pillay. The Foreign Ministry released a harsh statement accusing her of leading a campaign of demonization against Israel through her work on UN investigative bodies. Pillay, born in South Africa in 1941, previously served as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and headed an independent inquiry into the Palestinian territories.
