Top Trump Officials Hold Secret Camp David Meeting on Iran and Yemen
Senior US national security officials held a secret meeting at Camp David to discuss potential military actions against Iran and the Houthi movement in Yemen amid stalled regional talks.

Top national security officials in the administration of Donald Trump held a secret hours-long meeting at Camp David on Friday to discuss next steps regarding Iran and the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi movement in Yemen, according to three US officials.
The highly unusual meeting was not publicly announced by the Trump administration. The last comparable gathering took place in June 2025, just days before Israel launched military operations against Iran.
Vice President JD Vance led the meeting, US officials said. Other participants included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine.
Amid stalled negotiations, Donald Trump is considering resuming widespread military action against Iran. "Now I have to make a decision: either Iran signs the agreement, or it will no longer exist," Trump stated on Thursday.
Simultaneously, Trump is weighing whether to join a planned Saudi offensive against Houthis in Yemen. Saudi Arabia has urged the US president to launch airstrikes against the group. While Trump is currently inclined against it, US officials note he may change his mind.
