MK Chili Tropper Addresses Conscription Crisis and Palestinian State Opposition

MK Chili Tropper addressed a series of burning issues at a recent political parlor meeting in Jerusalem, ranging from his opposition to a Palestinian state and the battle over the conscription law to the price of internal division and the demand for a state commission of inquiry.

The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and Security

When asked about his political vision and the future of Jewish settlements and the Palestinian Authority, Tropper stated frankly that he sees no immediate solution to the conflict. He emphasized that promising illusions is more dangerous than acknowledging a grim reality. Tropper and his party firmly oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state in the West Bank, arguing that the lessons of the 2005 Gaza withdrawal and the October 7 massacres prove that security vacuums must be avoided.

Another central issue was the ultra-Orthodox military exemption, which Tropper termed a moral wound tearing at the fabric of Israeli solidarity. He criticized the vast gap between reservists serving hundreds of days annually and protests in Bnei Brak supporting draft evasion.
