Tom Haimov and Shahar Chernes talk about the phone call they received, the complex legal dispute, and the reason why postponing the event actually saved their relationship.
Tom Haimov and Shahar Chernes, who met on the reality show "New Love", will stand under the chuppah on September 22, after their original wedding date (March 2026) was postponed due to a round of fighting. Against the backdrop of the excitement ahead of the event, the two came to the "Walla Ishi" podcast and revealed the complex period they went through, which included a legal dispute with Tom's partner, harsh rumors accompanied by harassing phone calls, and a difficult struggle in their relationship.
During the conversation, Tom addressed the business complexity and his desire to leave the nightlife: "It started as disagreements. It was mainly that you realize the person doesn't care about the business, he cares about what the business gives him." Tom says he wants to get out, but it is important to get out strategically because funds are invested here. Shahar for her part admitted that the events raised questions for her about the future: "Of course there was a question of 'What is this? Did I get myself into a bad situation?'. We talked about it a lot before the wedding, what kind of life we want. In the end, you build a home, a family in the future, and there are things that no longer fit."
The rumors and publications in the media created a crazy roller coaster, especially when a person who introduced himself as a journalist called Shahar and asked her about rumors regarding Tom. Shahar shared: "He asked me 'What do you think about the fact that your future husband sleeps with men in the club's bathroom? And it is also known that he does hard drugs'". Tom was of course very offended and told how painful it is because he feels that his beloved is being hurt:
"I got sick, I lost my composure".
Despite the gaps and initial concerns, the two tell of a connection that changed their lives. Tom said that Shahar caused him to change from the "Tel Aviv douche" he was in the past, and Shahar noted that she accepted him "ready for life and family". Regarding the postponement of the wedding, the two see it as a step that saved them. Shahar concluded: "During that period of time, in March, we were in a difficult period. I put all the weight on the wedding and suddenly when it was postponed I realized that you don't get married like that. We needed it to be postponed, something from above".
