A Tiberias Magistrate's Court indicted a 35-year-old local resident on Sunday following a violent incident in which he allegedly jumped onto a neighbor's balcony armed with a paving stone and struck her partner in the head. The indictment charges him with assault causing actual bodily harm.

According to police, the episode unfolded after officers arrived at the apartment on October 21 following a report regarding a restraining order violation. Investigators noted that the female resident was undergoing divorce proceedings and had hosted her current partner, despite a court order prohibiting him from approaching her children.

Inspector Eden Abutbul, head of the investigation unit at the Tiberias police station, recounted that while officers were conducting initial questioning, the suspect suddenly vaulted from an adjacent balcony holding a paving slab and brought it down on the victim's head right in front of the police.

Officers quickly subdued and arrested the suspect, discovering he was a neighbor. During interrogation, the man confessed, claiming his actions stemmed from religious objections to the relationship. "This is unacceptable to me and to Rabbi Nachman, it is forbidden by the Torah. Given the opportunity, I would have eliminated him," he declared.

Defense attorney Yuval Zolti, representing the defendant through the Public Defender's Office, noted that his client is a law-abiding, religious man with no prior criminal record, and requested his release in the coming days, arguing there is no justification for detention until the end of proceedings.
