Less than two years after Israel Post was sold to the Milgam group, Phoenix Holdings, and Leibler-Schissel for 468 million NIS, a legal dispute has emerged involving a senior executive at the company. Logistics firm Teleport Delivery has petitioned the Tel Aviv District Court seeking an injunction to bar Yael Segman, who joined Israel Post last June, from continuing her role. Teleport claims that Segman still holds a 15% stake in the company, which operates in fields competing directly with postal operations.

Non-Compete and Confidentiality Claims

According to Teleport's filing, Segman was a founding partner in the firm and helped shape its business strategy. A September 2024 founders' agreement allocated her 20% of the shares, which was later reduced to 15% in March 2025. The company asserts that these agreements include strict non-compete clauses as long as she retains at least 5% of the shares, alongside confidentiality obligations.

Teleport's core concern centers on sensitive commercial data. The firm argues that Segman had access to client lists, supplier networks, pricing models, and strategic plans, including the April 2025 acquisition of the YDM delivery company. Such information could provide competitors in the shipping sector with a significant advantage, where pricing, delivery speed, and corporate client relations are paramount.

"The transition to Israel Post was known to Teleport's stakeholders for many months with full understanding between us, so I was surprised by the lawsuit," said Yael Segman.

Post-Privatization Context

Teleport provides customs brokerage, warehousing, inventory management, and package delivery, handling tens of thousands of shipments monthly. This overlap highlights the ongoing tensions between executive freedom of occupation and the protection of former employers' trade secrets.

The dispute unfolds as Israel Post, privatized in November 2024, operates as a private company striving to strengthen its commercial footprint. While Teleport seeks a temporary injunction to halt Segman's work at the post or any transfer of business data, Segman maintains she has concluded her active operational roles and that her transition was fully understood by stakeholders. The matter will be resolved in court.
