The planning committee for strategic infrastructure is set to review the master plan for the Tel Aviv Central multimodal transport hub, known as Matham. The project aims to integrate Israel Railways' Savidor Merkaz station with the Red Line's Arlozorov station and future metro lines.

Strategic Location and Integration

The initiative, promoted by NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System and designed by HQ Architects, sits at the intersection of Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, and Givatayim. The hub will combine Israel Railways, the M1 metro line, the Red and Purple light rail lines, an electric bus terminal, and cycling infrastructure.

Underground Infrastructure and Development

The master plan features an underground high-speed rail station, subterranean bicycle parking, and covered pathways over the Ayalon Highway. Furthermore, approximately 700,000 square meters are designated for commercial, employment, residential, and public spaces to handle an estimated 55,000 commuters during peak hours.
