Tel Aviv Scooter Chase Leads to Firearms Indictment for Two Suspects
Two Tel Aviv residents face criminal charges following a high-speed scooter chase and the recovery of a stolen, loaded handgun. Prosecutors presented extensive video evidence of the pursuit.

Arrest and Charges
A 36-year-local resident and an 18-year-old companion were formally charged following a dramatic high-speed scooter chase through the streets of Tel Aviv. The primary suspect was previously investigated in connection with shooting incidents and explosive attacks targeting sushi restaurants, though no indictment was filed in that prior matter.
According to the prosecution's indictment filed at court, the two suspects were spotted riding an electric scooter without helmets or license plates. During the pursuit, one of the suspects was allegedly seen brandishing a loaded, stolen Smith & Wesson handgun in the air while navigating busy intersections.
The Police Pursuit
Law enforcement officers patrolling on a police motorcycle attempted to pull the pair over by signaling and activating emergency lights. Instead of complying, the suspects accelerated, initiating a dangerous getaway through multiple red lights and driving against traffic on sidewalks and roadways.
"I found the gun and was on my way to hand it over to the police," the main suspect claimed during his interrogation, later shifting his defense to allege that law enforcement planted the weapon.
The chase ultimately concluded when the suspects crashed their scooter and fell to the ground, allowing officers to apprehend them. Prosecutors have compiled extensive digital evidence, including municipal CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, and body-camera videos documenting the pursuit and the brandishing of the firearm.
Conflicting Accounts
The co-defendant offered a different explanation for fleeing police, claiming he panicked because he was riding without a helmet and feared the scooter would be confiscated, denying any prior knowledge of the firearm recovered by investigators.
