Residents, athletes, and visitors in Tel Aviv's marina area are set to regain full access to the promenade as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to check out of the Carlton Hotel tonight.

The security restrictions, which began last Tuesday on election day, caused significant congestion and frustration among locals who initially believed the closures were temporary.

Public Frustration Over Extended Closures

What started as a localized security measure stretched across the entire week, culminating in severe overcrowding on Saturday as warm weather drew large crowds to the beachfront.

Local runner Orit expressed her frustration, noting that she initially mistook the closures for municipal renovations before learning of the prime minister's extended stay. Deputy Mayor Tzipi Brand also criticized the lack of advance notice, emphasizing that public spaces and cycling paths belong to the residents.

Questions Over Security Protocols

While acknowledging the necessity of security arrangements for the prime minister, local officials and residents questioned the prolonged duration of the closures and the absence of prior communication from authorities.
