Two Arrested for Tel Aviv Perfume Heist and Smuggling Attempt
Two Tel Sheva residents were arrested at a West Bank checkpoint after allegedly breaking into a Tel Aviv cosmetics store and stealing a large quantity of perfumes.
Two residents of Tel Sheva in their 20s and 30s were arrested overnight at a checkpoint near the West Bank after allegedly breaking into a cosmetics store in the Ramat Aviv Gimmel neighborhood of Tel Aviv and stealing a large quantity of perfumes.
Police received a report regarding a break-in at a pharmacy business in Ramat Aviv Gimmel. According to the suspicion, the suspects smashed the business window, entered the premises, and stole a large quantity of perfumes using large sacks known as "bala" bags.
Later that night, police officers intercepted the two suspects at the Meitar checkpoint in the West Bank. During a vehicle search, a large quantity of perfumes packed inside "bala" sacks, suspected to be stolen, was seized. Investigative findings indicate that the recovered property was stolen during the break-in at the Ramat Aviv Gimmel business and that the suspects planned to smuggle the goods into the West Bank.
Both suspects were transferred for interrogation at the Tel Aviv North police station and are expected to appear before the court for a remand hearing.
