Train service between Tel Aviv Savidor Merkaz and Netanya was temporarily suspended tonight following damage caused to the railway electrification infrastructure in the Shefayim area. The malfunction occurred during infrastructure work carried out by the Israel Electric Corporation in the vicinity.

According to Israel Railways, during the operations, a cable struck the railway electrification network in the Shefayim area, causing localized damage to the power lines. As a result of the impact, train traffic cannot be operated at this stage on the section between Netanya and Tel Aviv Savidor Merkaz.

Israel Railways maintenance crews were dispatched to the scene and are currently working on-site to repair the damaged electrification cables and restore normal service. The railway company estimates that the repair work will be completed within the coming hours.

Following the service suspension, shuttle services have been ordered for the Tel Aviv Savidor Merkaz, Herzliya, Beit Yehoshua, and Netanya stations to assist passengers affected by the disruptions.

Israel Railways recommends that passengers planning to travel in the area in the coming hours consider using alternative transportation methods until the repairs are completed and train service on the section is fully resumed.
