Israel Paid 38.3 Billion Shekels in War Compensation Over Three Years
The Israel Tax Authority reported that over three years since October 7, the Compensation Fund paid 38.3 billion shekels across 1.16 million direct and indirect claims.
The Israel Tax Authority published comprehensive data on the activity of the Compensation Fund (Property Tax) marking three years since the October 7, 2023 terror attacks. Since that fateful Saturday, Israel has waged an extensive military campaign across three major operations: "Iron Swords", "Im Lavi", and "Roaring Lion". To maintain the resilience of the home front and ensure economic stability, the fund provided extensive support to affected citizens and business owners.
The fund operated on two main fronts. First, compensation was paid for direct damage to buildings, vehicles, property, and infrastructure, including rental loss and temporary hotel housing. A total of roughly 168,000 direct damage claims were filed, with approximately 8.3 billion shekels paid out.
On the second front, compensation was paid for indirect economic damage. A total of about 1 million indirect damage claims were submitted, resulting in a staggering payout of approximately 30 billion shekels.
