Taisia Zamolotski sues for 170,000 shekels: "The biggest extortion case in history"
The complainant against Eyal Golan in the "Company Games" affair and her partner have filed a defamation lawsuit against a resident of the south following a video published on TikTok and Instagram. According to them, the video included sexual and humiliating statements and attributed criminal acts to them – and they are now also demanding its removal from the network.
Taisia Zamolotski, one of the complainants against Eyal Golan in the "Company Games" affair, and her partner Shlomo Cohen have filed a lawsuit in the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for 170,000 shekels against a resident of the south, following a video he published on TikTok and Instagram. According to them, the video included offensive and humiliating statements towards them and attributed serious acts to them.
According to the statement of claim, the video received about 188,000 views, thousands of likes and shares, and hundreds of comments, and was even pinned to the top of the defendant's TikTok profile. The couple claims that they were presented in it as extortionists, liars, and money-grubbers, and as those who allegedly acted through false complaints with the aim of generating financial profit.
According to the plaintiffs, the video opens with the statement "The biggest extortion case in history," and subsequently included sexual and humiliating statements towards Zamolotski, alongside statements regarding her origin and religion. It is further claimed that she was compared to women in prostitution and called by derogatory names.
Zamolotski claims that the publication harmed her honor and good name, and that the sexual statements towards her establish grounds under the Law for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment. Cohen claims that his name was also harmed, after he was allegedly presented as a partner in a financial and criminal conspiracy.
The two are demanding compensation of 170,000 shekels, alongside the removal of the video from every account under the defendant's control, the prevention of its redistribution, and the publication of a correction regarding the claims that they committed extortion. In addition, they are requesting reimbursement of legal expenses and attorney's fees.
Attorney Ohad Shamir, representing Zamolotski and Cohen, stated that in his view, freedom of speech does not allow for humiliation, degradation, and the dissemination of false claims. According to him, this is the first lawsuit, and other publications and parties are being examined in parallel. As of the time of publication, a statement of defense on behalf of the defendant has not yet been filed.
