Ta'al Party Ties to Charity Praising Terrorists Revealed Ahead of Swearing-In
Documents reveal 2021 links between Ahmad Tibi's Ta'al party and a Turkish-based Palestinian charity praising terrorists, involving incoming MK Ahmad Darawshe. Ta'al defended the humanitarian aid mission.

Newly surfaced documents reveal that in 2021, figures from the Ta'al party, led by Ahmad Tibi, established contacts with members of a Palestinian charity operating in southern Turkey. The organization and its associates have previously published material praising perpetrators of deadly attacks against Israelis.
At the center of the connection is Ahmad Darawshe, a Ta'al member and former advisor and bureau chief to Tibi. Darawshe was placed eighth on the Joint List and is set to be sworn into the Knesset after the faction secured 11 mandates.
Humanitarian Mission and Meetings in Turkey
According to the documentation, Darawshe traveled to Turkey as part of a humanitarian effort to distribute food and blankets to refugees. During the trip, he was welcomed by charity officials and met with senior figures associated with the organization.
Among those who met with him was Tarek Amayri, presented as a Fatah representative in southern Turkey and involved with the charity's operations. Photographs published on social media show the two together.
Praise for Terrorists and Anti-Israel Protests
Alongside relief work, accounts linked to the charity have historically published content glorifying Palestinian terrorists. This includes praise for Udai Tamimi, who carried out the shooting attack at the Shuafat checkpoint and attempted another attack near Maale Adumim.
Additional publications focused on Dalal Mughrabi, who led the terrorist cell behind the 1978 Coastal Road massacre that left dozens of Israelis dead. Mughrabi has long been portrayed by Fatah and Palestinian figures as a hero and a "shaheed."
Amayri himself has also published social media content supporting armed Palestinian struggle and expressing sympathy for terrorists. Furthermore, members of the charity have participated in anti-Israel demonstrations in Turkey featuring chants declaring that "the shaheeds are on their way to Al-Aqsa."
Ta'al Response and Context
The contact occurred during a 2021 aid operation involving joint meetings and photographs. However, the available documentation does not prove that funds or equipment were diverted to terrorist activities, nor does it link the 2021 events to current investigations regarding foreign interference in elections.
In response, the Ta'al party stated: "Darawshe oversaw humanitarian aid, including food and blankets, for Syrian refugees in Turkey, and we are proud of him. The Israeli government, on the other hand, has supplied ammunition to factions in Syria to escalate the civil war."
