Supreme Court Orders IDF to Outline Timetable for Return to West Bank Camps
The Supreme Court ordered the IDF to set a timetable for returning Palestinian residents to evacuated West Bank camps, acknowledging current security hurdles.

The Supreme Court ruled that the IDF must provide a defined timetable for the return of Palestinian residents to their homes in the refugee camps of the West Bank. The decision applies to the camps in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams, which were evacuated during a large-scale military operation.
The ruling comes one year and nine months after the launch of Operation "Iron Wall" in the West Bank, which began in January 2025. The stated objective of the operation was to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and neutralize the camps that had become major hubs of militant activity.
Judges Yitzhak Amit, Alex Stein, and Khaled Kabub acknowledged that current security conditions do not yet permit the return of residents. However, they emphasized that authorities must advance preparatory measures and establish a clear schedule for repatriation.
