Israel is celebrating the Sukkot holiday with a wide array of family-friendly events, festivals, workshops, and outdoor activities across the country. From interactive heritage treasure hunts and theatrical performances to science museums and culinary tours, museums and national parks are offering special programs for the holiday season.

Heritage Sites and Nature Reserves

Nature and heritage enthusiasts can participate in the "Time Mysteries" interactive game across 20 national parks and nature reserves. Families solve puzzles using a map, a WhatsApp bot providing real-time hints, and a humorous podcast featuring Yuval Segal, Yaniv Polischuk, and Lian Ben Yishay. Sites include Tel Dan, Gamla, Caesarea port, and Masada. Additionally, the Mount Hermon site offers high-altitude Sukkot celebrations at 2,040 meters, including rides, alpine sleds, and guided nature tours.

Festivals and Theater across the Country

Cultural highlights include the 30th anniversary international musical production of Chiquititas at Smolarsh Auditorium in Tel Aviv and the Haifa Congress Center. The Israel Festival of Hebrew Creation in Binyamina offers free morning events and evening performances by major Israeli artists like Riki Gal and Aviv Geffen. Meanwhile, the Acre International Fringe Theater Festival brings street performances and circus acts to the Old City.

In Jerusalem, the Tower of David Museum invites visitors on a historical journey through the citadel, featuring coin-making workshops, theatrical storytelling, and ancient coin crafting. The Bloomfield Science Museum hosts its popular "Bear Clinic," allowing children to wear lab coats and explore human anatomy alongside interactive scientific exhibits.

Culinary and Desert Adventures

In the south, the Desert Magic association offers culinary and cultural tours in Rahat and Beersheba, featuring traditional Bedouin food tasting, market tours, and spice workshops. Kfar HaNokdim offers family-friendly desert activities, including camel feeding, UV scorpion-spotting night tours, and Bedouin hospitality under the stars.
