Months of international investigation culminated in the arrest of two suspects on charges of human trafficking, pimping, and forcing women to leave their country for prostitution.

The investigation was led by the Central Unit of the Coastal District, following a report received from the operational coordination of the Intelligence Division through the Israel Police representative in Russia. It was conducted in close cooperation with Israel Police units and relevant authorities in Israel and abroad.

According to the suspicion, members of the network contacted women in foreign countries, convinced and directed them to come to Israel for prostitution, and after their arrival acted as pimps.

As the investigation progressed, the two main suspects were arrested: a resident of Beersheba in his 30s and a resident of Eilat in his 40s. Their remand was extended periodically by the court.

Today, with the conclusion of the investigation and the formulation of an evidentiary basis, a prosecutor's statement was submitted ahead of an indictment and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.
