A tragic incident occurred in the northern region of Ramim Ridge, where a student was killed and 24 others sustained injuries of varying degrees. According to initial assessments, the explosion was likely caused by unexploded cluster munitions fired by the "Hezbollah" terrorist organization during the conflict.

The Danger of Cluster Munitions

Preliminary reports indicate that one of the students may have picked up the unexploded ordnance and placed it inside a backpack. When the bag was set down, the device detonated, resulting in the fatal blast. Security officials have repeatedly warned that unexploded submunitions pose severe long-term hazards to civilians.

"If you see any suspicious ordnance, stay away immediately, distance others from the area, and report it to the police emergency hotline," Home Front Command authorities emphasized following the incident.

Cluster munitions disperse numerous smaller submunitions over a wide radius, often failing to detonate upon initial impact. This leaves lethal hazards scattered across terrain where civilians and children may later travel.
