Suspicion: He beat a young woman in her apartment, robbed her of 6,000 shekels – and then went shopping

A young woman reported to the police that she was attacked and robbed in her apartment in Bat Yam last Friday, around 02:30 AM. According to the investigation, a young man who arrived at the apartment beat her, threatened her, and stole about 6,000 shekels. She was treated at the scene by an MDA team.

Police officers from the Bat Yam station in the Ayalon district launched an investigation and conducted searches, utilizing technological means to track the suspect. In the afternoon, the suspect was located and arrested in Kiryat Ono.

The suspect is a 29-year-old resident of central Israel. In his possession, police seized approximately 4,000 shekels in cash, suspected to be the stolen funds, as well as receipts for clothing purchases totaling about 2,000 shekels. Additionally, he was found in possession of a motorcycle suspected of being stolen and various burglary tools.

The suspect was transferred for questioning at the Bat Yam police station. On Saturday night, a hearing was held at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, where his detention was extended until August 18, 2026.
