Israeli defense tech company Smart Shooter announced on Wednesday that it has secured a contract worth up to $150 million from the U.S. Department of War as the sole supplier of its SMASH counter-drone systems for the JIATF 401 task force. Following the announcement, the company's shares jumped by approximately 20% on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

Expanding U.S. Defense Operations

The project, established in August 2025, serves as a leading body in countering small unmanned aerial systems, integrating capabilities across various U.S. military branches including the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps, alongside federal law enforcement agencies. The initiative operates under the Domestic Shield program, designed to support force protection, base defense, and counter-drone requirements.

"The agreement contains two major achievements: the designation of our solution as preferred, granting us sole-source status, and the respectable budget framework," said Michal Mor, founder and CEO of Smart Shooter. "This win represents a significant milestone in expanding our activities in the U.S. defense market."

Financial Growth and Market Performance

The 36-month contract includes the supply of systems, training, and maintenance, making it the largest U.S. order received by the company to date. While the agreement sets a ceiling cap, it does not legally bind the U.S. government to purchase the full amount.

Smart Shooter completed its IPO on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange in 2026 at a valuation of 900 million shekels. The company reported a 27% increase in revenue for the first half of the year, reaching $16.3 million, with an order backlog surging to $51.6 million and a net profit of $1.7 million for the second quarter.
