Shufersal Renews Partnership with PR Veteran Rany Rahav After Two Years
Retail giant Shufersal has renewed its PR contract with veteran strategist Rany Rahav after two and a half years, boosting communications amid expansion into the coffee market.

Shufersal Restores Ties with PR Veteran
Retail giant Shufersal has renewed its business relationship with prominent communications strategist Rany Rahav, two and a half years after their initial split. The reconciliation comes as the company, under the leadership of the Amir brothers, undergoes massive expansion into new market sectors, including the competitive coffee industry.
The Context of the 2024 Split
The original 25-year partnership ended in May 2024 following the acquisition of Shufersal by new controlling owners, Shlomi and Yossi Amir. The management overhaul at the time involved sweeping changes across public relations, marketing, and corporate communications, leading to Rahav's departure alongside several top executives.
"After 25 years, 4 CEOs, 5 chairmen, and 3 owners, I am concluding my role at Shufersal due to changes the new owners wish to make," Rahav stated at the time, wishing success to the staff and noting that his firm was fully prepared for the transition.
Expansion into New Markets
The decision to bring Rahav back aims to reinforce the existing PR apparatus as Shufersal diversifies its retail footprint. Recent strategic moves include entering the meat sector and launching a major challenge in the coffee market against industry heavyweights like Strauss Group and Osem-Nestle. Industry analysts suggest this high-profile addition signals further aggressive expansion by the country's largest supermarket chain in the near future.
