The head of the Shin Bet, David Zini, stated on Monday during a ceremony commemorating the national memorial day for the October 7 events at the agency's headquarters that the organization must rapidly adapt to the current security reality.

"We must not fall in love with what we already know," Zini said. "We must not rely on concepts simply because they served us in the past." He emphasized that the responsibility resting on the agency's personnel is not limited to correcting the past, but also requires preparation for the future.

"The security reality is changing before our eyes. The enemy is studying us, adapting, developing new capabilities and operational methods. Therefore, we too must change, and quickly," he noted. "We must not wait for the next threat to understand that reality has shifted."

Concluding his remarks, Zini pledged to continue defending the State of Israel "with open eyes, humility, determination, and deep faith in our mission," honoring the memory of the fallen as a mandate to be better.
