Two suspects, including an illegal resident, were arrested in Shefa-Amr on suspicion of possessing illegal military-grade weapons, including a Matador missile stolen from the IDF.

The joint operation was carried out by Northern District police officers, the YASAM tactical unit, and the YAGAL border unit. The weapons were located near Shefa-Amr, and both suspects were taken for interrogation by the Galilee District central unit. Police will request a court extension of their detention based on the investigation's findings.

The police spokesperson's office stated:

"Since the beginning of the year, Northern District police and Border Police officers have seized over 610 lethal weapons and arrested armed suspects in the fight against violent crime. Our forces will continue to act decisively to locate illegal weapons and bring offenders to justice."

This seizure follows a similar incident last month in Ramle, where a LAW missile, four handguns, and four fragmentation grenades—suspected to have been stolen from the IDF—were found in a residential building's shelter. A resident of Lod in his 20s was arrested in connection with that case.
