Two crew members died on Sunday when a Saudi AH-6i military helicopter crashed in the southern Najran region due to a technical malfunction near the Yemeni border.

Two crew members were killed on Sunday in the crash of a light AH-6i helicopter in the Najran region of southern Saudi Arabia. General Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Riyadh-led military coalition, announced that the fatal accident was caused by a technical malfunction discovered in the aircraft during operation.
The incident took place in an area under the jurisdiction of the Saudi Ministry of National Guard in the southern province of the kingdom. According to Reuters, the helicopter was operating in a sensitive border area near Yemen before losing altitude and crashing to the ground.
In an official statement, the coalition spokesperson confirmed the details of the incident. An investigation has been launched to determine the source of the technical failure that downed the American-built light helicopter used for reconnaissance.
