Attorney Sarah Kandler has been appointed CEO of the Israel Securities Authority following an internal tender process. Kandler, who currently serves as head of the ISA's Inspection and Enforcement Department, will succeed Attorney Oded Shapirer, who announced his decision to step down in December after seven years in office.

Kandler has worked at the Securities Authority since 2001, holding numerous senior positions over the years. Among other roles, she has managed the Corporations Department and the Inspection and Enforcement Department, served as Deputy Legal Advisor, headed the Legislation Unit, and worked as a senior advisor to the ISA chairman.

Throughout her tenure, Kandler has been involved in a series of capital market reforms and initiatives, including restructuring the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, regulating rating agencies and trading arenas, and promoting technological innovation in the market.

ISA Chairman Sefi Singer stated that Kandler "brings rich experience, deep familiarity with the authority and the capital market, and a proven track record of successfully managing two core departments within the agency."

Following her appointment, Kandler remarked: "The Israel Securities Authority plays a central role in developing the local capital market, ensuring fairness, and promoting the national economy. I will continue working alongside the dedicated ISA staff to ensure the proper and stable operation of the capital market."
